Snowboard Review: 08-09 Flow Myriad

Flex: I didn’t find the board overly soft, definitely has good torsional flex to it allowing for it to quickly turn on edge with good response. The longitudinally flex was medium in term of flex. Over choppy stuff I found the flex a little too unforgiving.

Turning: The myriad excelled on the really short radius quick aggressive turns. The longer more S turns it didn’t do as well with the effective edge. But any quick response or edge to edge was where it was at. I didn’t encounter any edges catching with it and easy to transition into each turn.

Stable: On the hard packed groomers it held an edge, but over some bumps I definitely didn’t feel as confident on the board. It held an okay edge on the ice.

Pop: Just playing around on the side of a cat track it had good pop but I didn’t really test it with ollies or presses down the run.

Switch: The myriad is now a true twin which makes it ride the same regular or goofy as it does switch. I didn’t have any problems with switch riding on it.

Overall Impression: This was the last board of the day and I rode with the flow rep on a run that made my goggles ice up and really wasn’t fun for me. Not because of the board but because of the conditions, cold, icy and goggles freezing up.  It rode like a park board, meaning it could handle switch and handle the groomers but wasn’t made for charging or really just freeriding with.  It was fun for just playing with but not my style of board and the conditions didn’t really do it justice.

In terms of the size, I rode the 154cm (can see the size in pics) which doesn’t exist for 08-09 according to the catalog and website.

Shay’s Honesty Box: I’d like to ride this board again in the superpipe to really try it out. The conditions of the day and what the board was meant for, didn’t really give this review justice.
