Intended Purpose: The Bern Lenox is the women’s version of the original visor helmet. It’s meant to be a warm, comfortable, and protect your head in variable conditions from winter to summer.
Appearance: I purchased the Lenox helmet in satin black because it’s so versatile with everything. The side straps are a golden brown color but the bulk of the helmet is black coloring.
Fit: I purchased the helmet in M/L size which fits my head perfectly. It is snug with my head which means I can’t wear a beanie below the helmet, I typically wear a full balaclava to keep my face and head warm throughout snowboarding.
Goggle Compatibility: I’ve used a variety of goggles with this helmet but the majority of time has been spent with the Spy bravo goggles which are a great fit in this helmet.
Features: The Bern Lenox helmet are an all season helmet so it’s light enough to wear in summer or winter. I’ve only worn mine in the winter. The helmet features a thin ABS shell lined with EPS foam. This means if I take a hard fall, the helmet with crack and I know I need to replace it. It’s done a great job of protecting my dome. The helmet is specifically designed for women. It features the BOA technology to tighten the helmet but honestly I only adjusted it once and haven’t touched it since. The visor on the helmet does it’s job of keeping snow out of my lenses on snowy days.
Durability: Since the helmet is snug on my head, I haven’t encountered any movement so I can wear it and ride confidently on the mountain. I’ve had over 50 days riding in this helmet, taken some falls but it’s in great shape. So far there’s barely even a scratch on the helmet and I’ve certainly hit some tree branches while riding in it. I’ve taken this helmet with me on cat trips, powder days, and general freeriding at my local mountain.
Thoughts: When it came time to upgrade my helmet selection, I knew I wanted to stick with Bern as they make a great product that protects your dome aka the most important body part. The Lenox helmet has treated me well over the past couple seasons. It offers a comfortable fit, protective shell that I know will work until it needs replacing and it has the option of being a summer or winter helmet.
Review Disclosure: I purchased the Lenox helmet for myself.
