One of the best perks of my job at Alaska Airlines is being able to travel to new mountains. To celebrate our inaugural flight from Los Angeles to Crested Butte, Colorado a few of us from the marketing team were able to hop on the flight, document the inaugural experience, and spend a couple days skiing and snowboarding at Crested Butte Mountain Resort.
We had a truly great trip. It was my first time visited Crested Butte despite having lived in Colorado years ago. The town was quaint but had an action-packed main street, Elk Street with shops, galleries, restaurants and bars.
We stayed at the Grand Lodge which was conveniently located to the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. It was an easy walk to the slopes each day and despite being up on the mountain, they offered great service into getting us into town.
The skiing and snowboarding conditions were ideal for December. We had a couple days of sunny Colorado bluebird weather but there was enough fresh snow to still enjoy power turns. Since it was between the holidays, less people were on the slopes which meant more exploring for us!
