Having the Stevens Pass Bike Park in my backyard is a dream come true. I knew that I’d be busy organizing and re-doing the website this weekend but was counting down till I could head up to the Bike Park for an afternoon break of lap after lap to clear my head. I wasn’t sure what to expect for weekend crowds but found that even with the two trails and one chairlift, that the flow kept up during the day so lines were almost non-existent.
Since it’s been sunny in Washington, the trails were a lot drier and there were less snow spots than the last time I rode on Opening Day. It’s pretty amazing scenery to see Stevens Pass in the summer. I noticed people were scenic riding the chairlift, relaxing at the top tables and watching the downhill bikers take to the mountain.
The best part was Rock Crusher has an extended section which is now my favorite section of the trail. It’s a mix of huge berms, technical turns and fun rhythms to start it out.
