GNU snowboards are handbuilt in the US by snowboarders with jobs and designed for snowboarders who rip pow, parks and pipes. For 2013, GNU continues to offer men’s and women’s snowboards featuring a variety of technology from straight up BTX for park riders to C2 for freeriders and EC2 for those wanting something more.

March 6, 2012 at 12:52 amInteresting to see that the GNU Metal Guru is actually a tad softer than the Riders Choice. Have you had a chance to ride the two and compare them Shay? Pros vs. Cons & preferences?

June 6, 2012 at 4:24 amHey Shay 🙂 Have you demo’d these boards? Im just wondering if there is any difference in performance between the Gnu b pro and the Gnu b pro splitboard? Have never ridden a splitboard, and wondering if these two would perform much differently on the groomers or in the park. Obviously the splitboard is superior in the back country, but would these two boards perform the same in all other areas of the mountain is what I am trying to ask. Cheers
Shay
July 7, 2012 at 12:07 amDave, I have not had a chance to ride the Metal Guru to compare against the Riders Choice. I’ll definitely try to get on it next year for you.
Angela, I have reviewed the GNU B-Pro
http://www.shayboarder.com/2012/05/snowboard-review-12-13-gnu-b-pro-c2-btx.html
I have ridden a splitboard, they are meant to get you up the slopes and down them without lift access. If you aren’t planning on splitboarding, then get the regular snowboard. Technically they are supposed to perform the same on the other parts of the mountain but a splitboard still rides different than a normal snowboard because it’s cut in half when you ride it…so even though it’s connected, there’s a lot more movements/give than you would have with a normal snowboard.
