It’s pretty fun to come to Winter Park when the industry takes over the resort, the base is filled with friends from different companies and there are good times on and off the snow. Last night I enjoyed the Mervin party for the last party of the SIA Snow show and had a later start this morning because of it. But the demo must go on. It’s great to know that I’ll be at the Mission Ridge demo coming up so I can try more gear.
Today was another bluebird sunny day with a mixture of conditions. I skipped most of the hardpacked conditions since I got up later than usual. It was fun to take laps with the Never Summer crew.

This morning, I headed out to the tents. Stopped into Oakley to get the Canopy goggles, then a helmet at Pro-Tec and then grabbed a setup to start the day on the slopes. Today I rode the YES the Greats with Salomon Absolute bindings, Venture Helix with the same Salomon Absolute bindings, Arbor Swoon with NOW bindings, Bataleon Whatever with Union Milan bindings and GNU Ladies Choice with B-Free bindings.

During SIA, I was really impressed with the dedication of pro snowboarders to make products for snowboarding and also be behind the brand, turning screws and making it happen. JP Pelchat has done an incredible job with NOW bindings and was making sure his bindings went out exactly how they should go out. It was rad to catch up with him.

Despite 6 days of partying and tradeshow, I’m still smiling and having a good time trying out gear.

One of my goals this year was to leave SIA and travel around Colorado for a couple days. I’ve been really wanting to return to my former home, Steamboat Springs and catch up with my old co-workers, friends and ride the mountain for a day. After the on-snow ended, we hit the road and made it to Steamboat just in time for sunset. Now it’s time for a good nights sleep and a day on the slopes at Steamboat tomorrow.
