Today I read a quote from Terry Kidwell that said, “I never started snowboarding to make money. It was always about having fun, riding with friends…and the same stands today.” That quote made me think alot about snowboarding, myself and this blog. When I started this blog on August 20 four years ago, it was to share a passion I had for snowboarding – that snowboarding is about having fun, riding with your friends and those precious moments that bond us on cold snowy days. Whether you ride five days a year or 100 days a year, it’s about those experiences. I’ll never be core, I’ll never be pro and I’ll probably never land a 540…but I’m happy to strap a snowboard to my feet, laugh with friends and have fun. I’m incredibly lucky to share the fun of snowboarding through this blog and I hope that it’s contagious for everyone who reads shayboarder.com.
Thank you to every single reader that has tuned into shayboarder.com. Over the past four years, I’ve gotten to know you, met some of you and shared countless emails with many of you. You have helped this blog grow to be what it is and I really appreciate your support.
The last four years have gone by incredibly fast and have given me so many experiences that I will never forget. I can’t wait to see what the future brings.

August 28, 2011 at 7:00 pmAWESOMENESS!!!!!! I love the blog. I’ve been visiting for less than a year, but there has been so much on here since then. I especially love your attitude. Everyone seems to be about what tricks they can do, what they wear, but to see something different is refreshing. That’s why I like this so much! Thank you and happy shredding! 🙂
