When it comes to keeping your face warm on the mountain, facemasks do the job. On the deep powder days, they keep you from breathing in the snow. On the sunny days, they keep you from getting burnt. On windy days, they keep your face from going numb. Gone are the days that you have to wear a basic black mask and look like a bank robber, now plenty of companies offer bandanas, tubes, balaclava’s in an assortment of designs and colors.
Check back every Friday I’ll be giving away a facemask in a different brand/design/style. To enter the contest, read the directions below and leave your comment by midnight tonight. I’ll announce the winner in this post tomorrow morning. Just a heads up, this contest is for two winners!
About the Facemask:
The 2-Ply Neck Tube was designed with the help of team riders Raewyn Reid and Robin Van Gyn, These slouchy neck tubes are perfect for the not-too-cold weather. The outside features dry-tec® moisture wicking fabric and the inside is lined with super breathable fabric. Protects you from the wind while also keeping your face dry. Perfect for the winter bike rides too.

July 15, 2011 at 8:14 amBlackcomb because if you know the right spots, you can be riding freshies until late afternoon. There is great access to the slack country, fun terrain, great trees, and crystal hut waffles! And because right now, even though it’s july and i’m spending more time on my bike, I could still be on my board up on the glacier.. they even got snow there yesterday!!

July 15, 2011 at 8:16 amTough question. Killington in the East, Vail/Beaver Ck/Telluride in Colorado, Snowbird in Utah, Mammoth/Heavenly/Squaw/Alpine in the West? This year the answer is Boreal, because they will be spinning a lift on July 23rd.

July 15, 2011 at 9:15 pmMount Hood, Oregon because this majestic mountain was the real kicker that added the “umph” that pushed me to my limits. If it wasn’t for Mt Hood, I wouldn’t be training for an Ironman!
