Smokin Snowboards 2011-2012

Over the past 15 years, Smokin has evolved and adapted as a snowboard company.  With beginnings in a basement factory in North Lake Tahoe to the current state of growing into a 5,000 square foot factory in Sparks, Nevada.  The company is a full labor of love movement with Smokin Jay at the realm of it all.  Smokin continues to be committed to building only the best quality  handmade snowboards in the USA, using only top shelf materials and cutting edge technology.

For technology, Smokin continues to offer a variety of cambers/rockers to choose from:  DIRT rocker (flat binding to binding, rocker binding to tips), Anti-Rocker (completely flat throughout the entire effective edge), Clash Rocker (positive camber outside the bindings, rockered between the bindings) and Traditional Camber (positive camber throughout entire effective edge).  Every Smokin snowboard also utilizes Magne traction (MTX) with 7 points of contact along each edge for unmatched edgehold.  New for 2011/2012, Smokin technology introduces skate kick design which employs a radial contact point rise into a flat tip shape for a buttery floaty feel in the nose and tail.

Smokin Lane Knack Pro Model

Lane’s board is based off the superpark series, a board that rides just as well in the streets as it does in the pipe or powder.  This year Lane teamed up with Artist Andy Hollidge for a tasteful depiction of Reno’s finest export.  Features true twin, magne traction, anti-rocker, park flex, R3 environmentally conscious, variable density fiberglass layup, skate kicks.  Flex=5.

Smokin Team Series

Back for 2012, the team series is a true twin, jib flex, park desecrator.  Joakim Rasmussen (148), Deadlung (152), Cory Noble (156), Jeff Kramer (159) each got a distinct influence over the graphic direction and were directly involved in the board’s design process.  Features true twin, magne traction, anti-rocker, park flex, R3 environmentally conscious, variable density fiberglass layup, skate kicks.  148/152 Flex=4, 156/159 Flex=5.
