After the recent storms, the sun finally emerged in Mammoth but it was deceivingly not warm out. Quite the opposite, the winds were blowing hard with the anticipation of the next storm system’s arrival. It was a good day to keep completely covered up on the slopes with no skin showing.
I headed out early to get in my turns for the day. The reports said 27-44 inches in the past 48 hours and it was definitely deep in spots on the mountain. Even with riding the hovercraft, it was deep.
Terrain to myself and the hovercraft to enjoy it!

Today was getting in some powder footage for the Mammoth web videos. I took the left line in this photo and here’s Ashley getting the right line of fresh tracks.

It was pretty fun to see how much snow is really on the mountain. Here’s one of the trail signs, not much longer till its buried!
