I arrived into Park City last night, caught up on a good nights sleep and now am spending time in Utah before heading home to Colorado. I had never ridden Brighton but heard good things about the mountain so Steph and I headed there to get our turns in.
Since I’ve been traveling my calendar is all messed up and I had to keep remembering it’s midweek so most people are still working. We pulled into the Brighton parking lot and it reminded me of the good ole’ northwest riding, parking lot to mountain…none of the resort feel in between.

Whenever I visit Park City I visit my friend Steph who I know from the snowboard.com days and we both love shredding so it’s good to have a friend that is up for the days when I visit town. She rips and pushes me to rip as well.

As soon as we got to the chairlift we ended up running into Daniel who I know from twitter, he’s burritoandsnow online. Brighton is his home mountain so we spent the day lapping runs with him.

The riding at Brighton was a lot of fun, they talked me into hitting some of the side lips for air and I ended up getting into it. We messed between freeriding and hitting the park up where I was stoked to hit one ollie on flat box in there. Definitely a park that isn’t as “ride on” friendly but I still had a blast trying what I could. The views were amazing and Brighton had a really good NW feel to it which I liked.

It was funny how quickly the weather changed for today’s riding, we arrived with overcast/cloudy skies, had the sun came out, caught in a snowstorm and bluebird to cloudy again, all in just a couple hours difference.

We rode till the lifts stopped running and definitely a good crew we had riding together. Tomorrow is snowbird so hoping for more snow tonight but stoked to try a new mountain tomorrow.

March 20, 2010 at 4:05 pmtook my first trip to utah in february of this year, Brighton was definitely my favorite resort. We rode there, Snowbird and Snowbasin. All were sick but Brighton just has that atmosphere that is all about going out and just having a good time. Love it!
