I’ve been distracted the last couple weeks with daily life and traveling for the blog that I completely missed passing 1 million total visitors since I started this blog. Each day this blog gives me an outlet to express myself and a way to do something more with snowboarding through posts, reviews, interviews. At the end of the day I have this piece of work that I’m proud of, I can put on a resume when the time comes and I have met some great people because of this blog.

The most amazing part is that I’m an average rider who just happens to love snowboarding. Since I’ve hit the 1 million visitors mark, I think it’s the perfect time to do a snowboard giveaway that everyone can enjoy from around the world. I’ll figure out the logistics and announce it soon! Really this site is successful because I have amazing readers who I love to meet and communicate with. You guys make my days bright when they are gloomy and I really appreciate all the positive responses from everyone! Thank you!
In the mean time, let me know how I can make this blog better for the next 1 million visitors and how this blog has helped/affected you?

November 3, 2009 at 8:20 amHow about more ‘community’ around the site and it’s visitors? Like maybe organize a ski trip to meet locals? I’ll help coordinate if that sounds interesting…

November 3, 2009 at 10:08 amIf site traffic keeps improving, it might be worth your while to throw a couple more snowboard ads on the site and then maybe even launch a forum. Keep up the good work!

November 3, 2009 at 12:56 pmDevin, I thought about doing a shred with shay meetup during the winter and possibly when I travel to other resorts. Definitely if people are interested in just meeting up to go snowboarding for any ability level and anyone interested. I’ll definitely look more into that!
I have thought about the forums/community, that’s been mentioned before as an idea. I think my only hold back is I really appreciate some other communities out there that I wouldn’t want to step on toes and I’d want to do it right if I did.
Thanks for all the good words everyone, stoked on 1 million!

November 3, 2009 at 11:06 pmWhile its nice to read about your snowboarding life one of the major reasons why many people visit the site would be the REVIEWS.
As of late there has not been many new reviews. Would be great to get some new reviews. Maybe its just a lack of reviews since its the start of the season. If so then ignore this comment. But if not, I think that reviews were a fundamental reason why this site is so popular in the first place.

November 3, 2009 at 11:16 pmCongrats Shay! 1 million is quite the feat! my suggestion is keep on doing what your doing… oh and maybe more vids of everyday ridding even like random interviews on lifts (kind of like vids from the Aklivin.net blog) and like a chart with dates of when your ridding and which Mt.

November 3, 2009 at 11:18 pmJamal, thank you kindly!
Garry, The demo season is starting back up in Colorado this weekend so you’ll start to see the reviews come back. I’ve been enjoying the first couple weeks of riding without focusing on pushing out reviews too early and making sure I get the gear in a variety of conditions. So definitely the start of the season but also a rest time for me in terms of reviews. I put up the last ones in September so October is a month of no reviews but they start back up in November.
So definitely stay tuned they will be back! I’m working on one review right now for this week but it’s for luggage.

November 4, 2009 at 8:40 amthere are a lot of forums out there… and adding to your duties to have to administrate and moderate one might not be all that helpful to you. and though we all enjoy the site, i think you need to make sure its doing whatever you need it to do for you. the rest will all fall in to place as long as you love it. keep shredding!
