As August approaches every year, I start to get antsy, nervous, anxious, maybe sweaty but I think that’s the heat. It’s that time of year when I need to be back on snow and to fulfill that…I head to Mt Hood, Oregon to enjoy the summer glacier, slushy snow, sunshine and an eclectic collection of snowboarders.
I’ve spent some great summers at Mt Hood, encountered some interesting people and always came back with some great stories. I love being at Mt Hood, nothing beats hiking features in the summer in such a beautiful location. So needless to say, I’ve been counting down this trip for a while now…anxiously awaiting the Mt Hood view in the window.

I’ll be out of Colorado from August 5th-14th so please be patient with me when it comes to replying to/accepting comments, questions and answers on the blog. I’m not sure how much time I’ll have to reply to questions since my main goal will be updating posts from Hood and attending camp.
Windell’s Camp
I’m heading out to Mt Hood for session 7 of Windell’s Camp. I’ll be an adult camper and get to experience camp, shredding and being in the funnest place on earth. It’ll be my second time attending Windell’s Camp, I went way back in 1997 when I was a lot younger and now to get experience it again when I think I’ll truly benefit from it. My friend Bruce also signed up for camp and it’ll be the best time to spend the camp session with a friend as well. We are both trying to get our park skills developed so this will be the opportunity.
Make sure you check in each day for my updates from Windell’s Camp and a first hand view at camp life for the adults.

Twitter Giveaway
The fine crew at Mervin Manufacuting were kind enough to donate a 09-10 Lib Tech Skate Banana to my Portland Twitter Giveaway. On August 12th starting at 4pm, I’ll be putting out twitter clues that will help people track down my location in Portland and the first person who finds me, wins the snowboard! Super fun and I love the chance of meeting my readers especially ones willing to find me to win a snowboard.
Blog Business
Even when I travel it’s all blog business for me, I’ll be visiting a couple snowboard companies that have headquarters in Portland, Oregon. Last summer I visited Grenade which was a blast to check out so continuing with that tradition of going behind the scenes of the offices that help drive our industry.
I think that’s pretty much it. The site is doing great, I’m doing great and just ready to be out snowboarding.

August 5, 2009 at 11:03 amI love Grenade. Even moreso since the news broke of Danny’s arrest for possession. I don’t condone it, but c’mon, he’s a great snowboarder and one of the most chill guy I’ve ever seen.

August 5, 2009 at 10:38 pmAdrian, definitely will do…I’ll freeze it for you so they are perfectly kept up for a week.
John, definitely. The arrest is a bummer and I’ve never met Danny but Louie is a great guy, so I only wish good things for him and hope this doesn’t hurt his chance at the Olympics. Lets hope things work out for them.
