If you haven’t made it to Whistler during the Telus Festival you are truly missing out. It’s my favorite festival and every year I make the trek out to spend a weekend to a week in Whistler just to be a part of it. This year the Telus Festival expands and ends with the Grenade Games. It’s just a really good excuse to come out to Whistler-Blackcomb, ride two amazing mountains and hang out in an amazing town with nightlife, music and so much fun!
Unveils Detailed Plan to Take Over Whistler, British Columbia for Grenade Games 5
Portland, Oregon – February 16, 2009 –Grenade, a worldwide leader in action sports, and Monster Energy have joined forces to bring the Grenade Games to Canada. Get ready for Grenade Games 5, happening April 20-26, 2009 in Whistler, B.C. during the TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival.
“The Grenade Games are a one of a kind experience, the best of what makes snowboarding great,” says Grenade President, Danny Kass. “We’ve put together a schedule of events that will inspire riders and give fans something new to look at. It’s the end of season party you do not want to miss.”
The Grenade Games are known for putting a Grenadian spin on traditional snowboarding events, and this year’s contest is no exception.
Contestants collect cards from five poker tables scattered all over Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. Once they make it back to the village, they play their hand. Winners advance to the final round in front of the crowds, with cash, prizes and bragging rights on the line.
Grenade is bringing back that race spirit with a dual slalom, and adding many surprises like moguls with air time and snowballs.
With a rider-designed course, this Monster Air is sure to captivate the audience so be prepared for good music and a party that will go at least until the sun comes up.
Founded by two-time Olympic silver medalist Danny Kass, Grenade engineers action sports clothing and accessories. Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Grenade has expanded its signature glove line to become a world player in action sports gear. From snowboarding to skateboarding, motocross to super cross, the iconic Grenade logo is found on top athletes in nearly every action sport. Grenade combines industry expertise and passion for adventure to create cutting-edge designs that dominate. www.grenadegloves.com
