Handbuilt in the US by snowboarders with jobs is GNU’s claim to fame. Even though it’s under Mervin Manufacturing, these boards don’t really have the following of Lib Techies. The GNU rider is a different breed and it comes out in the boards. There’s one board for every type of rider and the quality over quantity is proved with GNU Snowboards.
GNU releases a new board called the Park Pickle for 09-10, the Pickle features asym sidecuts but with a deeper sidecut on the heelside edge. Many might think this is more marketing crap than actual tech that works (it’s come back from the past) but I can vouch from having ridden the board that it makes sense and once you ride it, your heelside turns are stronger and more defined.
GNU Snowboards remain consistent which is nice in the ever changing “what’s new” market. Here’s how the 09-10 boards are looking.

February 17, 2009 at 3:24 pmHi shay:
thanks for the gnu post. Just curious: does the temple cummins board only come in 162 next year and I heard that danny’s board will come with the option of mtx, btx, or c2btx.
any truth to this?
thanks again

February 17, 2009 at 3:26 pmHey Shay, you said : “There’s one board for every type of rider”. In a few words, what can you say between :
# Altered Genetics
# Rider Choice
# Billy Goat
Thanks 😉
PS : what sizes available for the Billy Goat (only 162)?

February 17, 2009 at 6:07 pmTemple Cummins Billy Goat comes in a 162cm for 09-10.
Danny’s board comes in a 153, 155, 158 BTX. It doesn’t look like it comes in MTX or C2, just BTX.
Fouganza. All mountain boards for every type of rider with more freestyle focus, to freeride focus to big mountain focus.

February 17, 2009 at 10:33 pmi ride the 08 billygoat 162 last year before they went btx..i was looking at the new 2010 goat and being it has the btx c2 i deff would like to size down to 159cm being the btx 159 would ride and float etc like a 162..i hope they didnt really make the 2010 in only a 162>? the old 162cm goats are for hard charging agressive riders, the normal sloprider may have trouble unleashing its true shredding power do to it being a damp board and stiffer flex.temple's boards have killed it for many many years and only now are people looking into them< glad to see gnu, temple and the goat getting sum luv 😉

February 18, 2009 at 12:55 am@ Shay : is it true? :
# Rider Choice : freestyle focus
# Altered Genetics : freeride focus
# Billy Goat : big mountain focus
It is a strange offer to only have Billy Goat in 162, not?
Thanks

March 16, 2009 at 11:13 amhey shay,
if you have a minute to elaborate, i was wondering if you could mention some of the differences between the altered genetics and the snow mullet. since these things are pretty much un-demoable (sold out everywhere) i’m going to have to preorder one for 2009-2010, and advice would be great.

June 9, 2009 at 12:55 pmHi shay
Im looking to buy the danny kass again, I just need to know if the sizes and width changed, what I need is exactly a 158 with a width of 26 BTX just like last year, and what is the width of the riders choice if they did it again

June 9, 2009 at 1:21 pmI added the spec sheets for the men's and women's boards to the post.
Also the Danny Kass is coming out in C2 BTX.
Senor, both the spec sheets are up to compare the Snow Mullet vs Altered Genetics. I haven't rode either so I can't compare from how they ride, but they are different rides depending on your style/conditions you ride.
Elie, Danny Kass is coming out in the MTX and C2 BTX in the same sizes and looks like same widths. The width of the Riders Choice 157.5 is 25.3
