I first heard of Capita snowboards in 2003 and since then, I’ve seen them rise from a small Seattle based company to steadily growing company that helped define themselves by word of mouth and products people love. I named my dog after the company so they definitely have it dialed enough for that much unconditional love.
With the introduction of the Horrorscope last year, Capita did very well in the reverse camber market. I watched people try it, love it and buy it as it became available. For 09-10 Capita is introducing more into the line and giving people a choice when it comes to reverse camber/camber. You can still be into Capita and have your personal preference be met.
Capita Stairmaster
It’s back with hot hands with asses and hand signals.
The women who love Capita now have a chance to ride a women’s specific FK board modeled after the horrorscope coming in 4 sizes: 143cm,145cm, 147cm, 151cm.
Capita Horrorscope FK
The very popular horrorscope is back with the same 3 sizes but also wide versions in a 152cm and 156cm.
Correction: Horrorscope in 47, 51, 55, 51W and 55W for next year.
Capita Quiver Killers
This board is a name whore…but still a good board. What used to be the MHT,FCG is now the Quiver Killer.
Capita Charlie Slasher Pow FK
It’s great to see a powder board introduced to the Capita line. I know these guys ride pow so it’s good to see a Capita board that’ll handle those epic powder days and not kill your pocket for a board that you save for super fantastic days on the mountain. It’ll come in a 158cm and 164cm. I’m personally looking forward to trying out this board and hoping I get a pow day with it.
Capita Stairmaster Extreme
Corey Smith’s board and pushing the buttons of society, if you look closely it’s models that resemble certain famous people and headlines that we read everyday on magazine stands. It’ll be interesting to see how the graphic is interpreted.
Capita Black Death Inc
The Black Death series has been one of Capita’s best selling series and is now 9 years in existence. I still own my BSOD and continue to appreciate the design and graphics behind the series. Death and sex sells. It’s great to see the original capita skull on the base brought back from the dead.
Capita The Green Machine
Being a little eco friendlier doesn’t mean looking like you are riding a tree down the mountain. The Green Machine features devoured hippie blood, environmentally-conscious inks, biodegradeable bean derivative topsheet, 95% recycled beewax modified sintered speed base, 100% recycled sintered ABS sidewalls and reforestation certified sustainable core.
Bringing back the 80’s pop for women as the women’s stairmaster.

February 4, 2009 at 2:11 pmGreat post, Shay. I’m really feeling Capita’s line for next year. The Indoor FK might be too good to pass up, perhaps even better than the Live RC.

February 4, 2009 at 5:30 pmI am also loving the 09-2010 Capita line. I have been a die hard fan since the inception and have 2 boards myself. I rode Lib this year because I felt like it was the safest bet for a reverse camber but now that Capita is doing it I might get a new FLAT KICK stick next year. Thanks for another great post.

February 5, 2009 at 11:42 amI am riding this years Horrorscope FK and got to ride next years Green Machine yesterday. They are super fun..I am definitely down with Capita’s Flat kick. My girl friend rode the Space Metal Fantasy and absolutely loved it. She has this years Saturnia (Womens version of the Stairmaster), but will definitely be buying the Space Metal for next season too.

February 5, 2009 at 12:09 pmSweet Johan for the corrections, I fixed the post with the right sizes.
Looking forward to the on-snow time with them.
Ghostmane. I’ve gone through a couple Capita boards myself. Flat Kick is super fun so can’t wait to see how it does in the other boards.
JBlack. Awesome you were at the on-snows! I’ll be at them in Colorado next week and those are on my list…need to do a post to get recommendations again from readers. Good to hear you have positive things to say.

February 16, 2009 at 4:12 amCurrently ripping on a 152 Horrorscope FK….Love it. Tried the new indoor survival FK 156 last week at keystone…. Get it! Snappy FK… the Horrorscope is for true soft jib.. the indoor FK carves harder, and snaps nicely if you ask me… any way you go you’re bound to be pleased… Don’t let the Flat Kick blow your mind!!!

March 30, 2009 at 6:56 pmHey Shay… nice to see that you have your own blog going, especially since you have been giving great advice on SB.com for quite a while. I found this by searching for “2010 Capita” as I am looking to buy another Black Death since I was so stupid to sell my 2003 BSOD a few years ago. Since then I have owned an Unorthodox and currently ride an Indoor Survival, but will be going back to the “Death” series next season. Thanks for the info and great work on the blog.
