I left Steamboat Springs this morning with the snow guns cranking away to make the lower mountain and base area covered with snow. Steamboat opens on the 26th so really looking forward to being able to ride my home mountain.
Today at Loveland was the Christy Sports Demo. Also this weekend, Copper has demos going on so if you are in Colorado and want to try new gear…this is the weekend!
The Christy Sports demo was very busy, lots of people trying out gear to decide what to buy. I came down alone for the day but was able to ride a couple more boards.
Boards I rode today: Lib Skate Banana, Lib Dark Series, Salomon Official, Burton Women’s Supermodel, Burton Feelgood, and Rossignol One Mag. The One Mag is way too wide for me but I figured I had the chance to try it on icy spots for a reader and one run was interesting with my size 8 boots on it. I didn’t try any new bindings today, used my tigre’s most of the day except when riding Burton then I used escapades.
Even with driving down alone and riding alone, met up with a couple old faces and new faces to make turns with. In the end, my dog Capita was waiting for me at the end of the day.
Tomorrow is Copper and looking forward to more demos. Reviews will be coming a lot quicker this week so stay tuned!

November 15, 2008 at 7:55 pmJust read that the city of Spokane is preparing to do its fall ‘leaf cleanup’.. how depressing it should be a snowplowing instead. Lookin forward to reading your skate banana review. maybe some pictures of the new lib tech colors 🙂

November 15, 2008 at 7:58 pmhaha they are coming 🙂 When I’m allowed to put them up, I will.
I’m gonna spend more time on the skate banana in more conditions before I put the review up, to be more fair. I rode it this morning and it’s really one of the boards that doesn’t suit me as a rider…a ton of people love them and for me, I’m just eh about it.

November 17, 2008 at 1:26 pmI think I saw you hangin’ out by the Salomon tent on Saturday. I was right next door at the Never Summer tent. I couldn’t get squat out of those guys about their R.C. plans for the future. You got any idea if they’re going to be using a variety on that on their freeride boards? I’d hate to buy one this year just to see them completely re-work a Titan or F1 with some version of the rocker next year.

November 17, 2008 at 1:32 pmHey Erik,
Probably was me! If you see Sunday’s post, you’ll see I’m riding a prototype for Never Summer. I’d say there’s a good chance definitely on the F1 and Lotus, depends how the testing goes and it’s NS’s decision to do it. I’m just giving my feedback on the board I rode. 09-10 boards will hit SIA in January and if it’s there, then it’s a go.
