I’m a huge Rome fan. In fact looking through the stuff I own…a lot of it is Rome. I own two pairs of Rome Madisons plus numerous soft goods from Rome.
Every year at SIA…I look forward to seeing what Rome has in store, whether it’s new boards, boots, bindings or outerwear. Definitely one of my favorite companies to support.
This year Rome is adding 4 new boards to the line up: Riff (Wide version of the Mod), Minishred, lo-fi, and Jett. I was stoked to see the minishred a kid snowboard and the name…that’s what I call the kids on the hill! The two new womens models are definitely great to add to the mix. The lo-fi being a new womens true twin that can be rode in the park or in backcountry and the Jett being a entry level womens board to progress with.
I have rode the 08-09 Rome Blue and reviewed it here.

Rome Flag, Anthem and Notch
Notch this year added the 162cm to the size range and 172cm swallowtail which looks rad!
Rome Mod
The 1/1 sign that you see shows that each board will be one of one. Every agent out of the factory has hand-painted elements so each one will be unique, no two exactly alike. The 1/1 is also featured on bindings like the Targa’s and 390’s.
I really like this years graphics (maybe it’s cause I’m one of few girls who likes strip clubs). The base is like a sign saying “Live Nude Girls” and the photo of the girl on the tops sheet is scratch-off.
Rome Machine, Manual, and Crail
You can see the Vamp in black with the dual boa system.

Thanks!

February 13, 2008 at 3:20 pmSweet pics 😉 Being a big Rome fan, I’m really psyched to see the goods next season for sure. The neon 390s are ridiculous. Any chance of some outerwear shots, and closeups of some boots? I’ll be looking for some new gear next season, and the teasers of the jackets and pants look nice…

February 19, 2008 at 8:04 pmThanks you guys! I didn’t get any closeup photos of the outerwear, but I have seen them on other snowboard websites like TWS, Snowboard-Mag, Future Snowboarding. Check around and I’m sure you’ll find more close-ups.

February 26, 2008 at 1:36 pmhey shay, melbatoasted from sb.com here… i had to do some clever detective work and some switching back/forth from your blog and the other site you linked with the rome 09 pics to try and figure out what the topsheet of the machine looks like for next year… but i think i’ve finally figured it out… third deck from the left, btw the graft and the artifact; any idea if that’s the 09 machine? http://content.fluofun.fr/photos/news/15420/14726.jpg (i can name every other topsheet from your site and the other site except for this one, so i’m assuming it’s the machine)

What are the sizes for it?
When is it coming out?

Do you have any info on the Notch 1985 reverse camber board? Other than what’s on the website. Is it a late release board? I want to pick one up for a powder stick this year but so far I can’t find them anywhere.
Thanks in advance.

November 4, 2008 at 11:08 amHey Anonymous…I asked Ron at Rome about the Notch for this year to help you out.
Here’s his reply, “The Notch 1985 is a bit of a late release, and a bit of a limited release, so there’s not going to be a ton of them. I know for a fact that backcountry.com has ordered some of them, but that’s all I’m sure of.”
