What was meant to be a quick trip to the liquor store and dinner pick-up ended up being a sucky night since my snowboard and bindings got stolen from my truck.
A friend picked up a 30 rack of PBR, put it in the back of my truck and walked over to get us Chinese. During the couple minutes that we were away from the truck, someone saw that the back was unlocked in the middle of the Silverthorne parking lot and grabbed the 30 rack of PBR and my Never Summer Lotus with Union Force SL bindings.
So if anyone can help or see this board on ebay/craigslist/slopes, it’s easy to spot with the sticker job and the Lotus should have a voided warranty. The Force SL’s have no way to tell if they are mine but they are used pretty good and they are M/L.
Here’s a picture of my gear, the bindings are on the ultrafear and the Lotus is the second board from the right.
[singlepic id=6437 w=500 h=333 float=]
I do take responsibility, I know my truck doesn’t lock from the rear but I also can’t believe someone would intentionally go to my truck to grab the beer and my board from it. There goes my bindings that I’ve been riding and one of my favorite boards, luckily I have other snowboards that I can ride. I hate swearing but I fucking hate snowboard thiefs.
So if you see this setup here in Summit County, Colorado…it’s mine and they stole it.
I’m more just bummed cause now I have to figure out what I’m going to ride tomorrow at Copper luckily I have one other snowboard with me that didn’t get yanked but no bindings.

December 11, 2009 at 9:21 pmOk, this is ridiculous, and honestly theft is becoming way too much of a problem. I’m sorry Shay.. that’s just ugh.. I’ll keep my eye out for it for sure!

December 11, 2009 at 11:33 pmI hate that for you. People just sux. I had the same thing happen to me in feb. My brand new arbor and ride bindings got stolen my first day of my trip to purgatory. I had to ride the rest of the trip on a rental. I still look on eBay for it. Snowboard thieves suck ass.

December 12, 2009 at 3:58 amUgh that sucks! I’ll be out on the hill in summit today and I’ll keep my eye out for it. It’s ridiculous that someone would go into your truck and steal a board. Bad Karma!

December 12, 2009 at 7:28 amNO!! My absolute biggest pet peeve is thieves! I will spread the word to the crew and if we see it, we will pummel the person that has it to a point of nearing death. Lock them up in a shed, and give you a call and you can come have your way with them. Seriously though, we got your back and will be on the lookout. Any core shots or anything on the base??
If you need some bindings let me know..Im sure we can figure something out. LAME.

December 12, 2009 at 8:08 amAND they took the beer. Douchebags.

December 12, 2009 at 8:23 amThanks everyone for keeping an eye out for it.
Jon, there’s nothing major that I can think of in core shots on the board. Its got a lot of days on it. The one big thing is the serial number should be a early number so like 10008 or 10009 something like that…but the biggest thing is right next to the serial number it should have a V mark for the voided warranty. All my NS’s have voided warranty’s so that one shouldn’t be exempt.
I’ve got bindings to borrow from a friend for today and hopefully when I get home to Steamboat I’ll be able to borrow bindings from another friend or one of the shops for the week at least until I get them replaced.
MBQ, sorry to hear that it happened to you too. I seriously hated snowboard thieves before this happened and now I hate them even more.
David, yeah my friends were bummed but we got that replaced right away. The beer lured them to the truck, that’s what we think at least

December 12, 2009 at 10:24 amShitty deal, especially where u are I bet N.S.’s and like a dime a dozen. Glad to hear you may have that v. But really, the dudes might check out the blog, see that its the ‘v’ and just sticker it. I’d be up for a fight if someone wanted to get me to rip off my sticker for them just to see my serial number.
Good luck though!

December 13, 2009 at 2:14 pmShit that sucks so much. I hope someone or you finds it and gets it back. My friends and I have experienced stolen boards before and I know how you feel. Best of luck in getting it back. I’m nowhere near Colorado but I’ll look around online to see if anyone is trying to sell it.
Sorry for the off-topic question but does the Circuit-R come in white too because I have the black one and I’ve never seen a white one before or is it just like a test model?

December 13, 2009 at 3:12 pmI’m sorry shay, we’re all looking for my 30 pack, and if we find it I’m sure your board isn’t far, if we find my beer, your board or your binders I will make sure justice is served. and to all the shayboarder readers I’m setting up a fund to replace my stolen beer. Stay tuned…

December 13, 2009 at 9:50 pmI hate theives! We will keep an eye out for it. Karma will catch up and they will shatter their femur, get evicted on a snowy night, roll their car or something.
So sorry Shay!

December 14, 2009 at 2:39 pmShay, I’ll spread the word to both my readers, too. Bummer you didn’t write down the serial number. Do that for the rest of your boards immediately. The picture will help. We WILL get that chump!
Adrian
December 14, 2009 at 6:47 pmI’m with Gags shay, a broken femur is the cost for my 30 rack of pbr and the eviction and car rolling will be pay back for your board! Oh yeah, I punched a small child in the face cause I thought they had your board, turns out it was a Never Summer Mini Evo but that fucking kid will think twice about putting Shayboarder stickers on his board!
Robbie
December 15, 2009 at 4:03 pmBastards.
Shay, I still can’t believe that shit, we were away from the car for like 15 min!!! Not only was stealing a damn NS board enough, they had to steal my PBR. grrr. If I find the fucker I’ll curb stomp them, no better yet, I’ll puppet them.
Brett
December 15, 2009 at 10:06 pmsome scummy losers tried to jack my buddy Ride deck at beaver creek of all places this weekend. I use a bike lock everytime my board is out of site…LOCK LOCK LOCK…

December 16, 2009 at 7:30 amDude, that’s the worst. Let alone one of you favorites. Sorry. I had a friend get stuff stolen last year, a really nice pair of twin tip skis AND his brand new snowboard in one shot. It was his first season back after some nasty knee injuries and surgery which made it even worse.
I have a lock and my bf just picked up an Omatic, so I bought him a lock for it too. I hate to have that happen, I’ve actually helped track down a few thieves at our hill and gotten stuff back. It’s easier at a small place, and more of a problem for that person when they have like 20 people ready to beat the crap outta them.

January 25, 2010 at 10:35 amI read about your board being stolen and I’m really sorry. You should seriously register your gear for free (even the stuff already stolen) on karmaarmy.com. They help register, monitor and even relocate boards, bikes, etc. through a cool social network of other boarders and outdoor nuts. They also work with law enforcement and are developing some really cool technologies that will actually be able to tract your gear like lojack! Hope all is well and best of luck with your gear!

January 25, 2010 at 6:45 pmThanks Aaron, I’ll definitely look into that! Appreciate that a lot. I replaced my gear but never got the stolen gear back.

February 18, 2010 at 6:34 amI think we should start a stolen board deal where we can all put pics up. Have it set up by areas like Summit Cty and so forth. I had a brand new Burton Joystick 163W with Cartel Bindings jacked at ABasin Dec. 19th. We need to find a way to help stop this shit, we pay alot of $$$ for our gear and it just gets jacked by some heartless thug. I have a Never Summer Legacy now and I have to lock that bitch up wherever I go. It shouldn’t be this way people. Riding is about freedom not locking stuff up because of fear of theft!!!

March 26, 2010 at 9:54 amI just stopped locking my board up because every one else doesn’t….I guess I’m going to start locking my board up again just bought a new Salomon Burner
